Lawn Solutions' Lawn Soaker is a ready-to-use soil wetting agent used to treat water repellent soil, otherwise known as hydrophobic soil. The main sign of hydrophobic soils is when water runs off or pools on the surface, instead of being absorbed quickly into the soil.

What causes soil to become hydrophobic?

Hydrophobic soils are caused by by the decomposition of organic matter, forming a waxy substance which coats the soil particles. After long periods of dry weather, the soil can become dehydrated which exposes a hydrophobic surface, making it difficult for water to penetrate down to the grass roots.

How to fix a hydrophobic soil?

You can fix a hydrophobic soil by applying a two-step process of aerating the lawn with an aerator followed by an application of soil wetting agent like Lawn Soaker.

Lawn Soaker will help break down the wax like substance that is caused by the decomposition of organic matter, allowing water to penetrate deeper down to the grass roots.

This product can be applied as frequently as necessary to treat water repellent soil and improve drought resistance.

Application

This ready-to-use hose-on bottle can treat up to 150m².

• Attach hose-on bottle to the hose
• Remove plastic plug from the sprayer
• Turn on the tap to begin application
• Stop spraying by removing the bottle from the hose or by turning off the tap
• Lightly irrigate after application to get best results
