Are you dealing with a nutgrass weed invasion? You are not alone. Nutgrass, otherwise known as nutsedge, is a highly invasive weed species and is one of the hardest weeds to remove in your lawn. This weed spreads very quickly during the warmer months and if left unchecked, could take over your lawn.
How do you get rid of nutgrass?
If you see nutgrass popping up in your lawn, it is likely already been in your soil for a long time. Manually pulling nutgrass is not recommended as improper removal such as leaving roots and stem behind will aggravate the situation and make matters worse.
The best way to deal with nutgrass is with a selective herbicide like Lawn Solutions' Sedge Control.
How Lawn Solutions Sedge Control works
Once applied, this selective herbicide will gradually cause the weed foliage and seed head to turn yellow until total desiccation occurs. The initial effects are visible in 7 - 10 days with full effects taking between 4 - 6 weeks.
Sedge control is also great at treating mullumbimby couch weed. Safe on all lawn varieties.
Application
Each bottle treats up to 1900m².
- Apply when weeds are actively growing.
- Apply follow-up treatments as required if sufficient new growth warrants weed control.
- Growth is greatest of both weeds following rainfall events.
- Drought stress after treatment may reduce control.
Spot spraying: Use 1.3g / 100 square metres of Lawn Solutions Sedge Control (one spoon full of measure supplied) plus 20mL / 10L water of non-ionic surfactant. Please note that an adjuvant must be used when applying Lawn Solutions Sedge Control.
Boomspray: Use 65-130g of Lawn Solutions Sedge Control per hectare plus 200mL / 100L water of a non-ionic surfactant.
Dealing with the pesky nutgrass weed problem in your lawn? Keep the stubborn nutgrass weed problem at bay with Lawn Solutions' Sedge Control herbicide.
Sedge Control is a granular concentrate that requires mixing with water in a knapsack for application, with calibration involved in order to understand how much water to mix with the product. If you are unfamiliar with how to undertake what is known as 'calibrating' your sprayer, please check out the sprayer calibration video.
