The Yellow Jacket cutter system is designed to make maintenance more convenient and help extend the life of wear parts like pockets and teeth. Plus, with only one tooth and three pocket styles within the system, you can help keep your wear parts inventory low and your productivity high. This Vermeer-exclusive system is a standard feature on stump cutters below 50hp.
Yellow Jacket cutter system – Key features:
- Serviceability – Loosen or remove just one nut to service the tooth – removal of the pocket is not required. This setup helps to significantly reduce maintenance time.
- Extended Tooth Life – The yellow jacket cutter system features a dual carbide-tipped cutting edge which can be rotated to reveal a new edge. The secondary carbide tip is protected and clear of the primary wear area while cutting with the leading edge. This helps extend the life of the tooth and can decrease the overall cost to the customer.
- Indexable, universal teeth –When cutting with the first edge, the second edge is protected and clear of the primary wear. When the tooth is worn, it can be rotated to the second position, which provides another cutting surface for extended tooth life.
- Pocket protection and reversibility – The reversible and bi-directional pocket design may be used on either side of the cutter wheel for a second tooth mounting surface. The indexable tooth helps protect the top and front of pockets from wear potentially extending the pocket life.
- Side Pocket Clearance – The tooth tip strike point extends outward to protect the side of the pocket. This enables better utilization of horsepower by limiting the pocket rubbing against the stump which can result in power loss and vibration. This also helps reduce pocket wear and extend the pocket life.
